Could you live a simple life? No cell phones, TV, no internet, growing your own vegetables, up and move to a smaller community, no debt, quiting your job, etc. As the older i get (31) i realized the cars don’t mean much, the jewelry, the multiple e-mail acct’s, the social network sites, the big screen tv. None of this really makes me happy anymore, and finding myself downsizing more and more to a simpler life.
Anyone else kind of like fed up with the rat race and big things in life to go too a simpler life?

Sure, where I live there are plenty of people living off the grid and off the farm. It’s not my thing-I like the internet, I like the TV but I do grow some of our food So that’s nice. No debt would be fantastic! Maybe consider just slowing down and doing without some of the stuff in your life as a start. And, to start herb garden in your window sunnies!

Ofcourse (: It’s a much less hectic, more peaceful way to live A friend of mine skipped town and is now living on in Iceland in Anacortes with no phone, no tv, no internet-she loves it and it’s really pleasant to visit her. .

Yes. I often feel the same as you do. I enjoy the early cultures of Native Americans, and the Amish. Fascinating people! If you ever want to lose yourself in a great read, I would like to suggest Googling The Amish, Native Americans and early. You’ll find some great book titles, then go to www. Half. Comfor some really good prices. ~ M @ tthew

Yes. I already live a simple life Relatively simple but it could be. I’ve never owned a cell phone because I do not want one. Our TV is 15 years old and we put it in the basement because we seldom watch it. The only jewelry that I own is my wedding band, my mom’s wedding ring (sentimental value) and a string of pearls. We grow some of our own veggies but our yard is not big enough to grow a years’ worth. However we live in a city because it was less expensive to buy a house here than in the country. We did not want to go that far in debt to to buy a home and the prices around here are much more expensive to live in the country. We have internet but we keep it to read the news. We do not do the social networks or chatting. Our lives are mostly simple. We actually quiet play board games, work in the flower garden, and we like to talk in front of the fireplace in winter. It’s relaxing.

Simple Hotel. . . . Depends on what you mean by simple. . . . Cell phones are a must for my work as well as three email accounts. . . . A regular run of the mill truck and car is all I use. . . . I do feel facebook, myspace, twittering and texting are completely stupid mindless. . . . I tell all those I deal with that if its important then call. . . No texts. . . . Some brain damaged idiot texted me one night to ask me about the condition of a car I was selling – what a moron – Like I’m going to text him with all the details about a car. . . Fool. . . . I texted him that he needs to call – Then he texted conversations he does not do well. . . . What a socially retarded idiot. . . . . I sold it to somebody else and ignored his many texts. . . . If someone is not enough person to use a phone then they can get lost as far as I’m concerned. . . . . This 60 year old embraces modern technology and enjoys a busy life. . . . But basic cable, internet and a regular cell phone is perfect for me. . . . . Besides a computer – my TV has a 32 inch screen, the kitchen has a nice table radio and a police scanner is about it for electronics. . . . . No GPS for me — I know how to read a map and never get lost. . . .

I actually yearn for a simple life. Getting tired of the hassle associated with the rat race.
