If you have no outdoor space at all, you can grow a few things in containers indoors by a good window, wherein the south facing. Tomatoes, and hot peppers are good candidates, but both require warm temperatures and good fertile soil. If you’re just planning on starting seeds indoors and outdoors have even a small space, then you can go pretty crazy inside, Depending on the climate where you live And which zone you’re in. (check google for planting zones). I just recently stated broccoli, sweet and hot peppers, brussels sprouts and tomatoes inside in seed flats with a heating pad. They all germinated well and wants to go under a small grow light soon. We have a tiny little house, so my husband rolls his eyes at my plans paraphenelia, but we also live in Eastern Washington and have a pretty short season groing so. . . Sorry to ramble. I’d suggest going to the library and researching plants that do well in your zone and then trying to find a good book on container gardening. Good luck and happy growing.

Hi: Apartment area and small gardens are becoming very popular today. Container gardens will add so much to an apartment area. Vegetables can be grown from seeds. I will link you to the spice and herb section of my website. There is a page on growing herbs from seeds, which is the same process you do for vegetables. This is a great way to get your apartment garden started. So I will link you to the garden project section, as there is a page on container gardening for apartments and other small areas. I hope some of this information will help you. So I will link you to the site map, as this page has everything that is on the website. Browse through as there are many articles, tips and techniques. If you are doing a container garden, think about doing a few herbs as they will add so much flavor to your vegetables. They are easy to grow. You can also think about putting some ivy around the edge of the containers. The ivy will flow over the edge and gives the container a complete look. I hope you will be able to use some of this information and good luck to you. Have a great day! I would say you should start growing Indoors with the aid of a peat pellet greenhouse kept warm by growing pads (heat pads) and grow lights to keep them healthy. After you have turned your seeds into healthy seedlings you can then place them into a planter box outside. I advise lining the box with a removable tray so down that if the weather gets intense you can move the whole thing back indoors to the safety of the heat pads and grow lights till things calm.

  • Are my garden vegetable seeds good next year too?

I just planted my first garden and didn’t have room to use the entire seed packet. Should I save them and use them again next year? Will they still be good? The package says the sell by date is the end of this year so it seems like they would still be good.
