I just planted my first garden and didn’t have room to use the entire seed packet. Should I save them and use them again next year? Will they still be good? You have a chocolate mint plant? Where did you get it? I’ve been searching for that plan! (Let’s hope that it lives!) – If it was not in a window box then I’d suggest that you look for slugs. They are easy to pick off by hand. Ladybugs-might be helpful for you. – Insepect leaves by hand and see if you can identify the culprit. This puts you at an advantage, I just bought a spray that contains rosemary. It is supposed to be an organic way to rid of pests. I have not tried it yet, but I’m guessing it’s the sort of thing you might like to try.

Those are leaf beetle eggs or larva of flies that have hatched and are on the underneath side eating through the leaves. They appear as tiny green worms feasting away when viewed through glass maginfication. Carboxyl is about the best and safest thing to use. Commonly called Seven it is non poisonous and non absorbing by the plans. It has been used against leaf eater for centuries and most commonly against the pest bean beetle as the use of DDT has been outlawed. I believe i read where the usage of carboxyl was acceptable as a natural way to rid of that bean beetles and bean grown that way can be classified as “Organically grown”.

if you cannot se the pest they will be hard to stop. this year i ground up banana peels with water in my blender for pest repellant on my roses, just pour it right into the dirt. i dont have any bugs yet.
